White Castle in Las Vegas?

Yes, there is now a White Castle located on the strip in Las Vegas. Everyone who wants to try them without going to the Midwest/East coast can now have a taste of the well known slider. I have enjoyed White Castle before in Chicago and found that they are quite tasty and I can put a few back. My cousin always orders them with extra pickles.  I should have remembered that when eating them in Vegas.  I forgot that tidbit, but they were still really good. I really wish they had a location in Denver.  That would make my year.  The best 2 things about the one on the strip, they are open 24 hours and they sell beer.  What can make this place better? Well, it is also attached to a casino! The place was hoping and cranking out burgers at a rapid rate.  If you haven’t tried White Castle, now is your time.

Applebees

We had gift cards to use at Applebees and I hadn’t been there in sooo long so we went to check out their late night happy hour.  the prices honestly are not that good for the drinks, but their food is good and actually pretty cheap.  They had Bingo going this night and well, I am a sucker for playing Bingo.  The Bingo guy was really annoying.  He only called the numbers once, didn’t repeat them.  He said a traditional Bingo, when what he really meant was a double Bingo…. errr.  whatever.  The food is great! I got a steak covered in shrimp.  Yes please!! Brian went with three choices from their app menu and we were both happy as a clam. (what does that actually mean?)

 

Omaha Steak Burgers @OmahaSteaks

Every year, Brian’s aunt sends us Omaha steak burgers.  These are the BEST burgers to make at home.  We don’t have a grill, so we pan fry them and they come out amazing! Juicy, tender, and beefy.  Ohh how I love Christmas time, just because I look forward to getting these burgers.  They usually have great deals on their website also.  If you have never had Omaha steak burgers, or anything else that they sell, then you are missing out.

 

Bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast

I typically write about places to go, but this time I made something at home that I had to tell everyone about.  These bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast were amazing the first night and even better as leftovers. The recipe is the easiest thing ever! Take 8oz of whipped cream cheese, chop up some green onions, chopped red bell peppers, garlic powder, salt and pepper and combine all together.  Slice the chicken breast long ways in half, and spread the mixture as much as you can really fit.  Then lightly fry up some turkey bacon just before it gets crispy.  Use the bacon to wrap the chicken and hold all of the mixture in it by using tooth picks. Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes and WAAA LAAA! Yumminess!

 

White Castle

People keep saying you have to go to White Castle.  We did and we didn’t have quite the adventure that Harold and Kumar did. Not even close. It was good, but so are the frozen ones you buy at Safeway.  Actually, they taste the same. If you must go to White castle just to say you have, then I say go.  If you don’t care about that, buy them from the grocery store.  You are not missing anything.

Brothers Beef and a lot of it

You cannot go to Chicago and NOT get a Chicago style hot dog.  I mean come on? It is a given.  So we went to this place called Brother’s Beef.  Had the Chicago dog with everything on it.  If you need to know what is on it, I have attached a picture that explains it all.  It was good, but honestly taste the same as the ones I have had here in Denver… Not that you should omit having one.You have to.  Brian had to have a Hot Italian Beef.  He said it was awesome and had a ton more beef than anyone he has had in Denver. I mean, it is Chicago.  🙂

Goose Island Brewery @gooseisland

Our friends from Chicago took us to a local brewery called Goose Island.  Once there, I realized what the guy on the plane was referring to when he kept saying 312 beer.  We thought he meant to say 3.2 beer like they sell in grocery stores in Denver. But it was actually a really good beer. This became one of my favorite beers that I am trying to find distributed here in Denver.  If you know of a place, please let me know!

Giordano’s Chicago Style Pizza

This was my first experience with Chicago style pizza IN Chicago. I love that everything is crammed (with tons of cheese) inside this pizza.  Granted the peeps I was with, wanted different toppings then I would have wanted, it was still really really good.  I love how cheesy it is.  So much cheese! Great beer choices as well.  We were going to check out Gino’s East, but heard that the wait is not worth their pizza, so we went to Giordano’s.  Well worth the walk in the windy cold!
